4v4 Blended

Course Details:

The 4v4 In-Person Course is a four-hour course that builds on the principles covered in U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module. Specifically, coaches will learn more about U.S. Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 6-8. The course will also ask each coach to reflect on their experiences to develop action steps for personal growth in the Six Tasks (Coaching Games, Coaching Training Sessions, Leading the Team, Leading the Player, Managing the Performance Environment, and Leadership).

Coaches will be asked to participate in discussions so each person should have access to a web-camera/live video capabilities.  Coaches may be asked to participate in the field component as either coaches or players, so please come prepared to actively learn.

Eligibility Requirements:

In order to register for the 4v4 Blended Course, candidates must be at least 16 years old* and have completed U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module. This module can be accessed here. 

*Due to online privacy laws, individuals under the age of 16 cannot create Learning Center (LC) profiles, and thus are unable to take Grassroots Courses. 

 

 

7v7 Blended

Course Details:

The 7v7 In-Person Course is a four-hour course that builds on the principles covered in U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module. 2021 National D License

Course Details:  

TheNational D License is an online and in-person course,that beginsin March 2021with an online experience and has either one or two in-person meetings.  Due to COVID-19, U.S. Soccer has provided the two options to ensure that education can continue in a safe manner and the hosting agency will determine the appropriate option.    

  

Coaches who register for this course can expectweekly learning opportunities that will featurea mixture ofindependent learning using online modules and livevirtualmeetings led bya licensedU.S. Soccer Instructor.Coaches will be asked toparticipate in discussions so each person should have access tothe internet anda web-camera/live video capabilities.  The virtual meetings will take place on agreed upon days and times (see below).Coaches maybe asked to participate in the field component as either coaches or players, so please come prepared to actively learn.  

  

Candidates that register for this course are expected to attend all course meetingsto be eligible to receive the license.  

  

Eligibility Requirements:  

In order to be considered for the U.S. Soccer D course, all candidates must meet the following prerequisites:  

  • At least 16 years of age  
  • Currently coaching or have access to a team 
  • 2 Grassroots In-Person Courses (one which is 11v11) + 1 Online course 

Or  

  • U.S. Soccer E License 

 

Course Structure:  

Pre-course Meeting

Virtual Period:  

The Virtual Period is the time in betweenthe pre-course meeting, the on-field component(s) and after the final field component. The Virtual Period will consist ofweekly learning opportunities that will feature a mixture of independent learning using online modules, live virtualmeetings led byalicensed U.S. Soccer Instructor and small group meetings that are organized by the coaches. Coaches will be asked toparticipate in discussions so each person should have access to the internet and a web-camera/live video capabilities.  The virtual meetings will take place agreed upon days and times that will be finalized during the pre-course meeting (each instructor group will establish their own meeting times).  See below for more specifics on typical meeting days/times, as well as the date(s) for the in-person meeting.
