Notification to Travel

The Illinois Youth Soccer (IYSA ) Travel Permit allows a currently registered IYSA Member League Team or Tournament Team to participate in a US Youth Soccer (USYS) State Association sanctioned tournament providing that the Team consists of only IYSA currently registered players and coaches who have a valid IYSA Member League or IYSA Tournament Team pass.

As of 7/6 Illinois Youth Soccer Travel Permits are ONLY valid for competitions in the following states**:

· Alaska

· Idaho

· Indiana

· Minnesota

· Missouri

· Montana

· Oklahoma

**This list is subject to change and should the listed USYS state association decide to disallow tournaments then the travel permit would become void.

Participation in a tournament in any state not listed or on a voided travel permit will NOT be covered by IYSA insurance and all injury liability becomes the responsibility of the club.

· The Team must submit to the IYSA the signed “IYSA Organization Communicable Disease Agreement” prior to submitting the Travel Permit.

· The Team must have a signed “IYSA Communicable Disease Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Agreement” on file for all Team Participants including but not limited to the players, coaches, trainers, volunteers, associated personnel prior to submitting the Travel Permit.  This form must be made available to the IYSA upon request and submitted to the IYSA with any insurance claim.

The IYSA does not provide any insurance coverage for Covid-19 related claims. Failure to follow the state and local government public health orders, Centers for Disease Control guidelines and IYSA protocol involving COVID-19 or any other communicable disease may void all insurance coverage for your organization under the IYSA insurance placements.  The Travel Permit does not include liability insurance and does not apply to players and teams that are registered and/or insured with any other association.

Failure to obtain a Travel Permit or to abide by the IYSA requirements, or a submission with false information will void participants’ insurance coverage, jeopardize the team’s ability to obtain future permission to travel, and place the team’s coach(es) in bad standing with the IYSA and USYS.

Although Restore Illinois Phase 4 allows teams to compete in out-of-state tournaments, it is recommended that teams remain in state and continue to limit travel to in-state events only during the pandemic.
