Illinois Youth Soccer Futsal Cups Are Back: January 28-29

Expanded To Two Events: The Futsal State Cup & The Futsal Presidents Cup

Illinois Youth Soccer is excited to announce the return of the Futsal Cup competition with the expansion to two tournaments to meet the skill levels of all Futsal teams.

  • The Futsal State Cup is designed for experienced futsal teams and winners will earn a spot to represent Illinois at the US Youth Soccer Futsal National Championships, February 24-26 in Virginia Beach.  Illinois Youth Soccer will pay the entry fee for the Futsal State Cup Champions to attend to the USYS National event, an $800 value.
  • The Futsal Presidents Cup is for inexperienced or newer futsal teams that aren't ready to compete against more seasoned teams. It will allow clubs the opportunity to introduce futsal to their players and provide a competitive experience to further learn the game.

Registration Fee
The event fee is $450 per team for 12U-17U

  • 12U TEAMS DO NOT ADVANCE TO THE NATIONAL EVENT UNLESS THEY PLAY-UP AND QUALIFY IN THE 13U AGE GROUP
  • The event will NOT be run for 18U or 19U teams 

At the time of registration ALL teams are REQUIRED TO ENTER A CREDIT CARD BUT IT WILL NOT BE CHARGED. Teams have until December 9 to submit a check payment.

Who Can Play
This event is open to ANY team but those teams / players / coaches that are not currently registered to or have a current IYSA member competitive league pass must also register and pay the fee for a tournament team, tournament player or tournament coach pass.  Any player or coach that does not have an IYSA member competitive league pass or IYSA tournament pass WILL NOT be allowed to compete in the event.

COMMON QUESTIONS
My teams is an experienced and competitive futsal team but we cannot attend the US Youth Soccer Futsal National Championships, should we apply for the Futsal State Cup or Futsal Presidents Cup?  Experienced and competitive futsal teams should register for the Futsal State Cup.  Teams are under no obligation to attend the US Youth Soccer Futsal National Championships. At the time of registration, all teams applying for the Futsal State Cup will be asked if they will attend the National event. Any team that commits to going after the conclusion of the event, but then drops out will be issued a fine but teams that know they cannot attend Nationals, February 24-26, and notify IYSA of that, will face no fine or punishment. 

My team does not play in Illinois Youth Soccer member competitive league but we play in a US Club league, can we compete in the these futsal events?  YES - this competition is open to any player or team. If your team and  is NOT currently a registered member of Illinois Youth Soccer you can compete but you must complete the IYSA Tournament Team form and pay the appropriate fees.  

My club team is not playing but I have friends on another club that are playing, can I guest play with them?  Yes, players from an IYSA member team can guest play with another IYSA member team for the Futsal Cups. All the player would need to do is get a copy of their IYSA member competitive league pass to show at the event. 

Can my Illinois Youth Soccer member team use players registered to US Club, ECNL, GA or other soccer organizations for this event? YES BUT the player must complete the IYSA Individual Tournament Player Pass and pay the appropriate fee.

My child and their friends are going to play, can I as a parent coach the team?  If you have an IYSA member competitive league coaches pass - Yes you can coach the team. If you do NOT then you must apply for an IYSA Coaching Pass (see the FOR COACHES section of this link) pay the appropriate fee and complete all of the risk management and eligibility requirements. Please note that this required a background check that can take 7-10 days to process as well as the requirement to have a US Soccer Grassroots Coaching license, which is subject to availability so if going this route be sure to PLAN AHEAD.
