State Premiership Chicagoland Division (State Premiership I & State Premiership II)

The details listed here are for teams applying for the State Premiership Chicagoland Division, with the traditional team vs team format of State Premiership I and State Premiership II

REGISTRATION

1.  Complete your Illinois Youth Soccer competitive league registration and pay all league fees by the league deadline. ANY TEAM THAT HAS NOT COMPLETED AN ILLINOIS YOUTH SOCCER MEMBER COMPETITIVE LEAGUE REGISTRATION (CIYSL, IWSL, ILLOWA, SLYSA or YSSL) AND PAID ALL LEAGUE FEES IN FULL WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR PREMIERSHIP

2. After your league registration is completed, complete the STATE PREMIERSHIP CHICAGOLAND DIVISION Application.  Application must be completed no later than February 12, 2021

  • New starting Fall 2020 - teams will be required to enter a credit card for the $150 State Premiership fee. Previously this fee was collected and paid by the competitive league you registered with but will now be paid directly to IYSA. The credit card entered will not charged at the time of application and teams will have until February 22 to submit a check payment for teams if they do not want to pay via credit card

3. Accepted teams will be notified by Feburary 17.  Teams not accepted will return to play in the Illiois Youth Soccer member competitive league they registered with.

PROMOTION & RETENTION

The Chicagoland State Premiership is a two-tier divsion with a promotion and retention system

  • Tier One: State Premiership Division I (Top 8 teams)
    • Top 6 teams in final season standings retain their spot 
    • Top 2 teams in final standings from Premier II earn a promotion into Premier I the following season
  • Tier Two: State Premiership Division II (8 teams)
    • Girls: Top 2 teams from IWSL A Division earn a spot into Premier II
    • Boys: Top 2 teams from YSSL 1st Division earn a spot into Premier II
    • All other positions filled thru the application process

Offseason 15U age divisions: State Premiership will be offered for 15U Boys in the Fall and 15U Girls in Spring, these are only playing opportunities for teams impacted by the US Soccer age group changes and is strictly a playing opportunity with no promotion/retention or Cup seeds earned during these seasons.

CUP SEEDING

Fall 14U Age Division

  • State Premiership I Champion
    • Winner earns a seed in Spring 14U State Cup*
      • If team had previously earned a State Cup seed of 5-8 based on advancing to the 13U State Cup Quarterfinals or Semis, that team will be bumped up 1, but not placing them above a team that advanced to a further elimination round.
      • If hadn't previously earned a seed by advancing to at least the quarterfinals of the previous year's State Cup, will be seed 9-16 after best remaining team from Midwest Conference Premier I, MWC Club v Club and Midwest Conference Premier II.
      • *If State Premiership I Champion elects to play Presidents Cup they will be seeded no lower than #5
  • State Premiership II Champion
    • Winner earns a seed in Spring 14U Presidents Cup
      • If hadn't previously earned a seed by advancing to at least the semifinals of the previous year's Presidents Cup, will be seed no lower than #7. 

15U-19U Age Division

  • State Premiership I Champion
    • Winner earns a seed in State Cup the following year*
      • If team had previously earned a State Cup seed of 5-8 based on advancing to the  State Cup Quarterfinals or Semis, that team will be bumped up 1, but not placing them above a team that advanced to a further elimination round.
      • If hadn't previously earned a seed by advancing to at least the quarterfinals of the previous year's State Cup, will be seed 9-16 after best remaining team from Midwest Conference Premier I, MWC Club v Club and Midwest Conference Premier II.
      • *If State Premiership I Champion elects to play Presidents Cup they will be seeded no lower than #5
  • State Premiership II Champion**
    • Winner earns a seed in Presidents Cup the following year
      • If hadn't previously earned a seed by advancing to at least the semifinals of the previous year's Presidents Cup, will be seed no lower than #7.
      • ** State Premiership II Champions that chose to participate in the State Cup will be part of the double-blind draw for placement

 

SCHEDULE
Depending on the number of accepted teams, teams should expect to play 6-9  State Premiership Division matches. Premiership matches will be considered your league play and will meet the team's requirement to compete in events such as State Cup, Presidents Cup, Midwest Conference, etc.

Illinois Youth Soccer will produce a schedule for all teams, designating who is the home team for each match.

The Premiership schedules will be released no later than  March 2.

State Premiership games are self-scheduled amongst teams. Once the schedule is released:

  • Teams contact each other and mutually agree on date and time. Game should be played at the field of the team deginated as HOME on the schedule.
  • All teams must finalize their State Premiership Schedules by April 26
  • No later than April 26, teams should email the following details for all of their HOME matches to ilstatepremiership@gmail.com
    • Date
    • Time
    • Specific location including address and field number

Although game details are due by April 26 teams are allowed unlimited game changes.  To get a game changed after the April 26 schedule deadline teams must do the following no later than 72-hrs prior to the originally scheduled match:

  • Email ilstatepremiership@gmail.com a new agreed upon date, time and location. NO GAME CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED WITHOUT THIS INFORMATION. Games cancelled by teams without email this information may result in a forfeit.

REFEREES
The Illinois Youth Soccer assignors (Art Arustamyan & Steve Jablow)  handle all assigning  for Premiership matches. The state assignor will assign the entire 3-person crew. Any team that would like to request to use an assignor other than one of the official State Premiership Assisgnors must do so no later than April 1.  ALLTEAMS ARE REQUIRED TO PAY $80 IN CASH AT THE FIELD TO THE CENTER PRIOR TO EACH PREMIERSHIP MATCH.
